October 11, 2012 - In an effort to afford membership to a greater amount of individuals, the RMFMA Board of Directors would like to introduce a new Membership Type: Individual Fleet Memberships. The Board reviewed several proposals for this membership type before approving the proposal as outlined below. This proposal now goes out to the Fleet Membership for approval and vote.
Proposal by Board of Directors
Amend the Small fleet membership to: Individual / Small Fleet membership.
Small Fleet Member will remain, but will add Individual to the membership type.
The board looked hard at its pledge not to raise rates again on Regular and Associate membership’s and we feel we are not going back on our pledge because Small Fleet membership dues were not raised previously when the pledge was made.
Eligibility for Individual Member must meet one of the following:

A Fleet Colleague member is an individual not currently associated with any fleet organization or an individual whose organization they are working for will not cover the cost of professional memberships or dues.

A Fleet Mentor member is an individual retired fleet professional that desires to stay involved with fleet and is willing to become an active mentor for the next generation of fleet professionals.

A Fleet Apprentice member is an individual student currently enrolled in an education program pursuing a career in fleet management but not currently affiliated with a fleet organization.

A Fleet Educator member is an individual professor or instructor that is actively teaching fleet related studies or technical skills.
Dues will be structured at 55% of Regular Member rate rounded to nearest $10 increment. (Example: Regular Membership $310 x 55% = $170.50, Rounded to nearest $10 = $170) So with our current Membership Rate at $310 our Individual / Small Fleet Rate equal $170.
Small Fleet Membership eligibility remains as current, with the 1 vote per organization (NO CHANGE) and first 3 individuals included in membership. Each additional member enrolled with an organization is at the rate approved by the board (currently $35 ea)
Individual membership gets a single vote.
Enrollment/Application form will show eligibility selection, applicant to select desired affiliation (with final approval by RMFMA).
How Voting works:
RMFMA will send an email to the primary contact of each active fleet member organization with a link to the online ballot. Each organization is allowed one (1) vote. Voting will be open for approximately 60 days in accordance with the Association's policies. Voting will close on December 14, 2012.
Results of the Vote:
The results will be announced the week following the close of the vote, both on our website and through email.
