September 24, 2012 – The Rocky Mountain Fleet Management Association® (RMFMA) announced today the winners of the RMFMA Annual Awards. The ballots were tabulated and results announced to the general membership at the 2012 RMFMA Conference & Expo held earlier this month in Arlington, Texas. 2012 Fleet Professional of the Year: Wayne Corum, Director of Equipment Services, City of Fort Worth, Texas Wayne is the Director of Equipment Services at the City of Fort Worth for the past six years. His annual business plan includes goals to improve customer service and reduce repeat repairs. With Wayne’s guidance, the Equipment Services Department continually meets and exceeds these goals. Wayne encourages the educational development of his employees by supporting them in their endeavors to obtain individual certification through the RMFMA CAFM and CAFS Programs. Under Wayne’s direction, the City of Fort Worth has been a Best 100 fleet for the past 6 years and has improved their ranking from number 15 in 2010 to number 9 in 2012. About this award: This award is granted to a Fleet Professional whose organization belongs to the RMFMA and has brought about a significant advance in the management or operation of the fleet. Such achievements may be productivity, quality, service, innovation, community service, and employee development. It can be in the areas of new methods, tools, record keeping, O&M, equipment, facilities or procedures. 2012 Outstanding Fleet Member of the Year: Robyn Forsyth, Budget Analyst, City of Denton, Texas Robyn has served the Texas Chapter as the Secretary for the past two years. She has gone above and beyond the duties of Secretary by co-chairing the Chapter equipment show committee for the annual Texas Chapter trade show held at the Texas Motor Speedway. She has assisted in setting up and coordinating the Quarterly Chapter meetings. Robyn is also a member of her local church and volunteers with the Plano and Highland Village Annual Balloon Festival. About this award: This award is granted to one Fleet Member of the RMFMA who has contributed time and effort in the promotion and operation of the Association. Such distinguished contributions should consist of serving on special committees, doing research, writing reports, obtaining new members, assisting with meetings, community service, serving as officers and promoting the goals and objectives of the Association. 2012 Kathy Loeb Outstanding Associate Member of the Year: Maggie Laird, Laird Consulting, National Associate Maggie has supported the Association by speaking, sponsoring events, and giving advice since it was established. She owns Laird Consulting, a fleet industry consulting firm, and can be counted on to speak on many topics, even at the last minute when necessary. Maggie volunteered her time the past two years as the 2012 Conference Agenda Chair which included arranging for the speakers and reviewing presentations. Prior to the award of the Business Services contract, she has volunteered her time at many RMFMA Conferences. About this award: This award is granted to one Associate Member of the RMFMA who has contributed time and effort in the promotion and operation of the Association. Such distinguished contributions should consist of serving on special committees, doing research, writing reports, obtaining new members, assisting with meetings, community service, serving as officers and promoting the goals and objectives of the Association. RMFMA serves fleets that range in size from less than 25 vehicles to more than 4000 vehicles and pieces of equipment.
